Honesty is not just the best policy – it is the truest way to live and the closest sense you can get of what heaven is like. No hidden agendas!
Honesty ultimately brings peace, contentment, and a glimpse of the way God wants us to live. Living in honesty feels so right because He created us for just this purpose. The path may not always be easy but it is the way to salvation. In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the truth and the light. Whoever follows me will not perish, but find everlasting life.” Practicing honesty – Christ’s truth – is simple the ultimate path to heaven. And it does take practice.
Yet honesty is not always easy. Being honest forces us and others to admit to realities that we may not want to face. It is often easier to live in dishonesty, which can be comfortable for a while, than to make changes that living in truth and honesty would demand of us.
In what areas of your life do you find it difficult to be honest? I would love to hear from you.
