Do parts of your life ever feel like a moving target? Maybe you were focusing your aim in certain directions when the coronavirus hit, and circumstances caused upheaval, refocus, and re-aim. It can feel like the world has turned upside down, at least temporarily.
Our Father God knows these times come for us all. Jesus even told his disciples to expect tough times, saying “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows” (John 16:33). In the same breath (and verse), He added a hope-filled promise: “But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
The shifting sands of this world will move, but if Jesus is the foundation of your faith and hope, your world cannot be rocked so hard that you will not prevail. The more you learn about Him and become like Him, the better you can stand on a solid foundation – relying on His immovable nature to see you through. For as God said clearly in Malachi 3:6, “I am the Lord, and I do not change.”
Father, keep me rooted firmly in You as my immovable foundation. Keep me in Your Word. Keep me in constant communication through prayer. Amen. (Taken in part from “Daily Wisdom for Women”)
