Are you prone to self-pity?
It is easy to feel sorry for ourselves when we are overwhelmed with so many responsibilities and burdens. At those times, we should remember Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
So dwelling in self-pity is not being steadfast and faithful to God, and you will certainly not fulfill your life’s purpose apart from God.
And remember David’s cry, from Psalm 13:1: “How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hind your face from me?” God heard these cries, and he hears our cries – don’t ever doubt it. Not for a minute.
