The humble will be one day be rewarded, according to Matthew 23:12: “For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”
In this Scripture, Jesus is speaking out against the scribes of the laws that were being handed down by the hypocritical pharaohs. He is instructing Christians not to focus on the divisions between church leaders and their flocks but rather embrace His Spirit and live as one. They are not to exalt themselves over one another, because God has given all of them certain talents.
Likewise today, God wants to find Christians He can use to do mighty works through, but who will not get puffed up. He wants people who know that they could never do anything miraculous except through His Power.
We are just to be a conduit, and not the actual miracle-worker. God should always be the one who receives the glory. If you strive to be humble, He can use you greatly for His Kingdom work.
