For we know Him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.”
(Hebrews 10:30)
In the Scripture above there is found great foreboding. It is not just a reminder for us to avoid judging, but a reminder that God is the judge, and He will indeed one day judge us all.
That can be comforting when you see another person getting away with some sinful behavior. God is watching, you can tell yourself. So put away your judgment and anger.
Also in the Scriptures, one of the most notable stories of anger is when Jesus overturned the tables at the temple. As told in Matthew 21:12 – “Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.”
Christ showed anger on behalf of His father, not on behalf of Himself. We too should be angry at the things God is angry about, but not at other things that might only have an impact on you.
So what is my thought on freeing yourself your anger, and letting God be the judge? I believe that if you accept that God is the ultimate judge, you can indeed be free from anger, and you don’t have to worry about injustices. Let God worry about that.
Are you letting God be the judge?
