Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
The prophet Isaiah wrote the passage above in the 8th century BC, during the stormy period marking the expansion of the Assyrian empire and the decline of Israel. In the book of Isaiah, he unveils the full dimension of God’s judgment and salvation, proclaiming that God will punish the rebellious people but later redeem them, just as one day He will redeem all of us.
It is very comforting to remember this Scripture and visualize God’s promise of his presence and our own safety. He does indeed enable us to bear all our trials, and that very fact helps us find freedom from fear.
So hold on to the many Scriptures that remind us of God’s promise of protection. We will not be condemned if we listen and obey God. Instead, we will be rescued.
And after all, when we consider our blessings, aren’t we really “too blessed to be stressed?”
